SMS Policy

**Effective date:** Jul 22, 2026

## Overview

This SMS Messaging Policy explains how NW Legacy Law (“we,” “us,” or “our”) uses text messaging (SMS/MMS) to communicate with our clients and prospective clients. This policy is in addition to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. By opting in to receive text messages from us, you agree to the terms below.

## What our text messages are used for

We use SMS only to communicate with clients about their account and matter. This includes:

– Appointment scheduling, confirmations, and reminders
– Responses to questions and general customer care
– Account, case, and document-related updates
– Returning a call or following up on a request you made

We do **not** send marketing, promotional, or advertising text messages, and we do not send unsolicited (“spam”) messages.

## How you opt in

You provide your consent to receive text messages from us in one of the following ways:

– By checking the SMS consent box on our Contact and submitting your phone number
– By signing our client engagement letter

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any product or service or of receiving legal services from us.

When you opt in, you will receive a confirmation message such as: “Thank you for signing up for messaging with NW Legacy Law. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP.”

## Message frequency

Message frequency may vary. We only text you in connection with your account, your matter, or a request you have made, so the number of messages you receive depends on your interactions with us.

## Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply. These charges come from your mobile carrier and are your responsibility. Please check with your carrier for details about your plan.

## How to get help

For help at any time, reply **HELP** to any of our messages, or contact us at 360-975-7770 or chris@nwlegacylaw.com. In response to a HELP request you will receive a message such as: “You have reached NW Legacy Law. You may opt out of messaging with us at any time by replying STOP.”

## How to opt out

You can cancel text messages at any time by replying **STOP** to any message you receive from us. You may also reply with END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT. After you opt out, you will receive a one-time confirmation such as: “We’re sorry to see you go. This confirms you have been opted out and will receive no further text messages from us.” You will not receive any further messages unless you opt in again.

Opting out of text messages does not remove you from other forms of communication with our office (such as phone or email) related to your matter.

## Your privacy

We respect your privacy. Phone numbers and any information you provide for text messaging are used only to deliver the messages described in this policy. **We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.** No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes under any circumstances. Information may be shared only with the service providers that help us send these messages, and only to the extent needed to deliver them. For more detail on how we handle your information, see our Privacy Policy.

## Carriers

Carriers (such as your wireless provider) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

## Eligibility

Our text messaging program is available to recipients in the United States. You must be the account holder or authorized user of the mobile phone number you provide, and you must be at least 18 years old, to opt in.

## Changes to this policy

We may update this SMS Messaging Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top reflects the most recent version. Continued participation in our text messaging program after an update means you accept the revised policy.
